Are dry goods Distributors/wholesalers have made new return policy's and made it much more difficult to return merchandise plus increased restocking fee of 20%! I usually have very few returns and have a limited return policy now. If most people new how much product I have sitting for years that I was not able to return or they would not take you may fall over because its in the thousands of dollars! Anything that attends to have a history of problems I simply do not carry that product anymore. We pride our selves of selling what we use personally or in the store and works for us. We do not just carry every product to make a buck.
I still have to read the whole thing because its about 3-4 pages long!
I unfortunately may have to limit or all together eliminate most returns on merchandise? What may happen is the consumer including me will have to go directly to the manufacture for returns? As I was talking to someone else in the business the other day about it & it seems nobody wants to deal with returns anymore because of the constant problems with returns etc.. I know other retail/wholesale clubs etc. that have limited or updated policy's on returns. Over the years the big box stores, Walmart etc. have had lax return policy's and made it easy to return anything any time. Well some consumers have abused these policy's & the retailers, wholesalers have been eating the returns. Well it adds up over time and the bottom line we lose money out of our own pockets. One other reason is a lot of stuff, especially electronics do not last long or are out of date within a year because something new comes out or they just simply quit working. Like yesterday I bought a new dvd player and every place wants to sell you a extended warranty! Its pretty much b.s. because things in the past like my parents appliances lasted 10-20 years and now they last a couple years. It is cheaper to usually by new then paying to fix it or buy a warranty on the product. My last dvd play took a crap 1 month after the extended warranty went out. If i have had a problem like JVC t.v.'s I no longer buy a JVC product. I do not shop at Best Buy because of poor customer service. Note: do not always blame the retailer because they are not the ones dong this or making the product & are just a reseller of it.
After reviewing this situation I will post here & at the shop new return policy's. I figure I will just have to post the manufactures information available so a return could be made directly.
thanks for your understanding,
me Dave
